3rd Annual Teal Ribbon Golf Tournament

The sky was filled with Teal on Thursday January 13, 2011 as the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona (OCAZ) kicked off its 3rd Annual Teal Ribbon Golf Tournament with an impressive teal balloon launch.

Over 200 participants packed the Sun City Lakes East and West Golf Courses for a day of celebration, remembrance, education, awareness and golf.

Tana Kern shot a memorable hole-in-one and won the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Quiz drawing. Annette Leal Mattern, President of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and Dr. David Alberts, Director of the Arizona Cancer Center addressed the group; providing a progress report and encouraging news about the positive impact that a healthy, low-fat diet and physical activity can have on cancer prevention and recurrence.

Much needed funds were raised to benefit the educational, support and advocacy programs of OCAZ and fun was had by all. We extend heartfelt gratitude to our Teal and Gold Sponsors Morphotek and Arizona Oncology and to all who donated and participated to make this event a success.
